Action Items
There are a few timely items we need you to take action on ahead of your first day. Make sure you complete all the necessary items listed on this page prior to your start at SoFi Technologies to ensure you are ready to go on your first day!
If not completed, it could result in your start date being postponed.


1. Background Check & Fingerprinting
When you received your offer letter, you should have also received an email regarding your background check through our partner, First Advantage.
Please be sure to respond as quickly as possible to requests for information, as background checks need to be fully completed and cleared prior to your first day. Delays may impact your start date.
If your role requires you to be fingerprinted (your recruiter will communicate if this applies to you), please be sure to schedule and attend your appointment as soon as possible. Delays in completing may impact your start date.

2. Identity Verification
Along with your offer, you should have received an email from Persona to complete an identity verification. This is a required step in our process. You will need a government-issued ID and a smartphone to complete this. Please do so as soon as possible.

3. Complete Workday Onboarding By the Thursday Before Your Start Date
Workday is our HR Information System - it houses all of your critical personal and employment details at SoFi.
Prior to arrival, you must log in to Workday and provide important information that our team needs to ensure that everything is ready for you to start. For security purposes, you will be sent two emails from Workday (sofi@myworkday.com) with login details.
(For U.S. based employees) Please sign in and navigate to your Workday inbox to enter the required information listed below by Thursday prior to your first day.

- Personal Information
- Government ID(s)
- I-9 Form
- Photo
Completing this information is critical for our team to set up your access to other applications.

4. Submit I-9 form
To begin employment, we need to verify your identity and employment authorization to work in the United States through the Form I-9 process. While this is required to complete within 72 hours of your start date, please complete this as soon as you can prior to your start date.
First, you will complete Section 1 of your I-9 in Workday. Next, you will select a "Section 2 Reviewer" (friend, family member, colleague) to inspect your work authorization document(s) in person.
Both Section 1 and Section 2 of the Form I-9 need to be completed no later than three days after your first day of employment.

5. Confirm your laptop shipping address
Your manager selects the type of computer you will receive based on your role. If you have a preference (i.e. Mac or PC), please communicate this to your manager.
You will receive a form asking to provide an address for your laptop to be delivered to. A signature will be required to accept the delivery, so plan to be home during the delivery window or provide an address to an authorized recipient over the age of 18 to sign for on your behalf.
Laptop orders are placed (2) weeks prior to your start date, with delivery times varying by location. If there's any concern about receiving your laptop, it's crucial to contact your Recruiting Coordinator ASAP, as this may impact your confirmed start date.
You will receive the UPS tracking number from our 3rd party vendor, Connection, once your laptop ships. If you are unable to accept the delivery, UPS will make another attempt the next business day. If there are any shipping delays, our IT Onboarding Team will notify you.
Note: For Select Operations classes, you'll join Day 1 on-site and receive your laptop upon start. Expect a separate email from your trainer with more details about your office arrival.

6. The week before you start
As you get ready for your first day, here is what to expect the week before you start.

Please have your Workday information entered and completed!
Friday
Your laptop will ship to the address you provided no later than the Friday before your start date. If your delivery is delayed, you will receive further instructions from onboarding-all@sofi.org.
Please refrain from starting or setting up your computer until after you receive your SoFi Account Information sent the evening before your start date.
By the end of day, you will receive a zoom calendar invite to an Optional IT Drop In Session scheduled on your first day (sent to your personal email address). This is to assist you with any questions you may have while going through the laptop set up guides on the morning of your start date.
